15Frantically, the frightened bus drivers take off at top speed. The Tarx' monster lunges toward the second to last bus and manages to grab hold of it. While the children scream helplessly, the large, dangerous spider climbs onto the roof. Without warning, the creature slams one of its legs through a window near the center of the vehicle. With intense panic, several children desperately move to the other side. Thinking fast, the bus driver slams on his brakes, sending the spider flying forward. The last bus slams into their bumper and the children are thrown forcefully. As the vehicle with the broken window speeds past the monster, the last bus begins to accelerate again. The spider jumps onto the nose of that last bus and quickly rams a leg through the drivers side windshield, barely missing the driver. While the spider coils its snake-head back to strike at him, he rapidly hits the brakes and the creature goes flying straight forward, landing on its back. Wasting no time, the driver slams his foot on the gas peddle, running over the monster before it can regain its footing. The spider's badly crushed and immediately dies after the two dinosaur-like heads let loose blood curdling screams.
David and Taschin are rapidly approaching Earth and the Arn's beginning to sense a great deal of panic in the Los Angeles area. The details are still fuzzy to him from several million miles away, but things seem very dangerous. He's trying to find ways to use the Kivon to speed up Taschin's ship, but isn't having any success. Minutes seem like hours while the Earth slowly appears to grow in the view screen.
Nearing the edge of the park, the people in the buses spot a strange maggot-like entity squirming around on the grass near a small cliff. The thing appears about six feet long and makes the children uneasy. Just up ahead, another of the white creatures can be seen emerging from the ground. As the buses rapidly exit the park, another one of the strange and maniacal spiders is visibly tearing its way out of one of those white creatures and it becomes readily apparent that the maggot-like entities are larva.
The buses continue on toward the center of Los Angeles. All the children, as well as the bus drivers, are incredibly scared while numerous spiders roam the streets in search of victims. Screams can be heard everywhere as people desperately try fleeing the onslaught, mostly in vain. The monsters are ripping people out of cars and eating them on sidewalks. Children are throwing up inside the buses and crying intensely. Accidents are many as people are freaking out and driving in extreme panic. One of the bus drivers has to slam on his brakes while a car flips over right in front of them and goes whipping by upside down with sparks flying everywhere. A spider tries to lunge at the stopped bus and barely misses as the driver hits the gas and speeds away. The 8 bus drivers are calling each other on their radios and consent to go toward the center of the city, a few miles away. Feeling they can seek shelter in a sky scraper, they speed off in that direction. The ride's extremely tenuous as people are running across the street from time to time while they're being ruthlessly chased. Abandoned cars and pile-ups are everywhere, which only ads more of an obstacle course to the drive. A man runs right in front of the lead bus and the driver's attempts to swerve are unsuccessful. Slamming into the man at 60 mph, he's thrown a good fifty feet through the air and smashes into a parked car. A spider rapidly descends upon his body and wastes no time starting to consume him. A gang of the hideous, blood soaked creatures begins chasing the last bus and they're moving at close to 50 mph. The driver's desperately trying to outrace them amidst the chaos of the streets and is sweating profusely. Several police officers are shooting at that pack of monsters and they're not very successful. The spiders turn on the cops and rapidly kill them while they scream and blood flies everywhere. As the Sky scrapers loom into view, the bus drivers are doing everything in their powers to get everyone to supposed safety. They're driving on the sidewalks when they have to and occasionally are hitting unfortunate people, who are carelessly running about in panic. The lead bus slams into a spider while the driver rounds one last corner on the way to the nearest sky scraper. That spider flies through the air and hits a few other creatures as they look for victims. Retaliating, the group attacks the lead bus. Four spiders jump on and climb all over it while the driver attempts to swerve back an forth, hoping to knock them off. They're clinging to the bus and the children frantically hide under the seats in fear. Glass shatters everywhere as the monsters attempt to break in. Slamming on his brakes, the driver watches as they fly forward. Without warning, the next bus slams into the back of the first bus, sending the first driver crashing into the windshield. Slightly dazed and bloodied, he manages to keep his composure and hit the gas. Running over two of the spiders, he watches the other two leap out of the way. The second bus manages to get going and runs over the third spider. As the fourth spider attempts to leap onto the third bus, it slips on the roof and flies off to the drivers left, slamming through a store window. The buses rapidly pull up to the front of a sky scrapper. There doesn't appear to be any monsters around and the drivers quickly get the kids off the bus. While they begin to pile out and run toward the building, several of the venomous creatures appear on all sides of the large tower. A couple hundred children get inside the building, but a hundred more are trapped outside. Numerous spiders encircle them and are hissing, growling, and posturing while they slowly move in for the kill. Suddenly, Rummager II comes blazing into view and opens fire with multiple laser beams, rapidly vaporizing the creatures. Wasting no time, the children and adults outside hastily run into the sky scraper and move toward the elevators. They desperately want to get away from the ground floor and decide to travel toward the vertical center of the building. The drivers agree to take everyone to the 24th floor and waste no time in doing so. While the elevators begin to close, several spiders break through the glass on the ground floor, furiously running toward the people.
