Flying into the Martian atmosphere at extreme velocity, the incredibly beautiful Colzin ship looms into view. David's never seen one of their vessels before and is quite impressed by the 250-foot-long craft. Immediately, a Colzin soldier warns Dave and Taschin to prepare to teleport aboard the vastly superior alien vehicle, where they'd be safer. Before the Colzin even has time to accomplish his task, the Tarx droid ship comes blazing into view and is hitting his vessel in its back section with some form of multicolored energy beams. Almost every shade of color imaginable's mixed into what almost looks like circular saw blade shapes, which are semi-transparent. The slowly spinning disks are spaced several feet apart and are rapidly slamming into the Colzin ship, causing it to shake violently. Almost immediately, the Colzin vehicle whips around and fires two huge circular beams of yellow and red light out of two ports in the ship's nose, which instantly fly into the 100-foot-long dark-colored enemy vessel. David's desperately trying to use the Kivon in an effort to hack into the Tarx robot's software, but is having no luck as the droid's using a computer system that's totally foreign to him. Without warning, several energy beams whip through the Martian surface and crash into the Vartaxian's ship, causing it to rock with incredible force. David and Taschin cringe as they a sent flying at high speed. As they shake off their temporary injuries, it becomes clear to them the Vartaxian vehicle's sustained considerable damage. Meanwhile, the intense struggle continues between the Colzin and Tarx vessels as multicolor light's flying back and forth with tremendous furry. Much to his dismay, Dave can tell the Colzin ship's weakening. Accelerating toward the Tarx robotic craft, the Colzin vehicle explodes with an enormous bang, causing the robot vessel to slam into the Martian soil with extreme velocity.

Taschin: Damn! We're in serious trouble! Our shields are totally out of commission! One more shot and were done for! We've lost our protection now that the Colzin ship's destroyed!

David: Don't panic! I think that last blow to the Tarx craft totally messed it up! I think its weapons are completely ruined and its shields are shot!

Suddenly, the Tarx ship slowly flies off the planet and limps into space. Some kind of yellow smoke's emanating from an apparent hole in the vehicle, which is due to its injuries.

Taschin: It appears to be headed for your planet! I can't imagine that's a good thing!

David: It's very bad! I'm sensing it had some kind of bizarre bio-weapon on board that wasn't damaged. I think it's making a last ditch effort to wreak havoc before it dies. The droid seems to be beyond repair. I don't like this situation, at all!

Taschin: I don't suppose you can use the Kivon to repair my ship? Otherwise, it's going to be at least three or four days before I can fix her. Based on its current acceleration, it's going to take the wounded Tarx droid about a day to reach Earth and do who knows what. We don't have much time!

David: I'll do my best!
